## Set up once, everyone's in

Your workspace owner connects Slack a single time. Everyone else is linked automatically.

1. **Connect your workspace** — Your workspace owner authorizes YAPL from Settings → Integrations → Slack. It takes about a minute, and it only ever happens once.
2. **Everyone links automatically** — The first time a teammate talks to the bot, we match them to their YAPL account by email. No setup per person, nobody to chase.
3. **Work from wherever you are** — App Home tab, slash commands, channel notifications: whichever one fits how your team already works.

- **Create a task mid-conversation** — Type / in any channel and pick Create YAPL task. Choose the plan, name the work, add an assignee, due date and starting status if you want them, and it lands in YAPL before the conversation moves on.
- **Find any task you own** — The Find YAPL task shortcut searches everything assigned to you by name. Each hit comes back with a way into the planner and an Update progress button, so you can deal with it straight from the results.
- **The /yapl slash command** — Run /yapl tasks me to see what's on you, /yapl status to close something out, or /yapl assign to hand work off. No browser tab required.

- **What we don't access**: Your team's Slack messages, and any conversation that is not a direct message to our own bot.

## Questions about YAPL for Slack

### Is Slack integration available on my plan?

Slack integration comes with the Trial and Professional plans. It is not part of Basic, so upgrading to Professional switches it on for your whole workspace.

### Do I need to connect Slack separately for each teammate?

No. The workspace owner connects Slack once. Everyone else is matched by email the first time they interact with the bot, so there is nothing for your teammates to set up.

### Can I choose how often Slack notifies me?

Yes. You can get a direct message the moment something needs your attention, or move to an hourly or daily digest from your own notification settings.

### Does YAPL read our team's Slack conversations?

No. YAPL only ever sees messages sent directly to its own bot. Your team's channel conversations and private messages stay private.

### What does YAPL need access to in our Slack workspace?

Just enough to work: your channel and user lists for setup, permission to post messages, and the ability to answer slash commands. Nothing beyond that.

### Where is our Slack connection data stored?

Tokens, account links, and message logs live in your workspace's own database region, right alongside the rest of your YAPL data. Notification content is delivered only into the Slack workspace you connected, and nowhere else.
